South Barrington

Welcome to South Barrington

Shopping and entertainment mecca with some of the largest homes in the state

Compared to many of the other nearby cities, South Barrington is absolutely bustling. The presence of premier shopping locations, innovative restaurants, and plenty of community activities means that residents hardly ever find themselves at a loss for things to do. Yet, despite this dynamic energy, South Barrington is also beloved for its bigger lots and neighborhoods, where luxury homes are spread out to evoke a sense of rural privacy.

Incorporated in 1959, South Barrington is an enclave for the affluent residents of Chicago’s suburbs. Many of the estates in South Barrington resemble architecturally diverse palaces, with an undeniably regal grandeur regardless of their style. Immaculate Mediterranean mansions with sweeping lawns and resort pools, jaw-dropping brick farmhouses, traditional-style properties with over 14,000 square feet—all of this and more can be found among the quiet and prestigious neighborhoods of South Barrington.

What to Love

People & Lifestyle

When residents aren’t taking advantage of the delights at The Arboretum, they’re spending time on their own great estates soaking up the agrarian beauty of the surrounding area. Since most of these opulent homes come packed with luxury amenities, residents have everything they could need right at their fingertips.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

One of the biggest draws to South Barrington is The Arboretum of South Barrington, set on the charming verdant grounds and gardens of what was once a large tree farm. As the area’s premier outdoor retail and dining destination, The Arboretum houses upscale brands such as White House Black Market, Bath & Body Works, Soma, LOFT, DSW, and Sephora. If that isn’t enough, South Barrington is also right next to the Poplar Prairie Stone Crossing retail area.

Coastal-inspired fare and ambiance can be found at The Hampton Social, which provides diners with a vacation getaway complete with a “Rosé All Day” lounge. The independently-owned Calibre Coffee serves handcrafted drinks from their espresso bar, gelato, and award-winning coffee brews that can perk up any day.

Incontro A Tavola, a restaurant crafting regionally diverse Italian dishes, sources its ingredients either locally or imported directly from Italy. Their house-made pasta is to die for, and the intimate atmosphere creates the perfect vibes for romantic date nights. New Orleans- inspired sides and prime steak take center stage at Ruth’s Chris Steak House, a staple among residents in South Barrington.
